The LaGrange Sunrise Rotary Club recently honored two Seniors; Amanda D'Angelo and Thomas Gleason with scholarships to help them pursue their college dreams.   Amanda and Thomas are both 2013 graduates of Arlington High School.  Amanda is planning to attend LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York beginning this fall, majoring in Early Childhood Education. while Thomas plans to pursue his education at the University of Hartford in Connecticut and plans to incorporate his love of math and music into an Acoustical Engineering program at Hartford.  Both students exemplify our Rotary moto; "Service Above Self".  Amanda's multiple extracurricular activities focus on her passion to make a difference in the lives of young people, through her Religious education instruction or her Girl Scout project where she refurbished a playroom at the Children's Home in Poughkeepsie.  Thomas's passion for music brought him to the Senior Center and Council for the aging, where he performed for the residents that he came to know during his 8 years of delivering Meals on Wheels.   It is truly refreshing to see young people passionate about Community Service and just hoping to make a difference in the lives of others.

Our congratulations go out to Amanda and Thomas for their accomplishments and best wishes for a successful year.
